I get links to all sorts of funky alarm clocks from friends who know I have yet to find one that works as intended.  This one is great!

@ Hoboken Train Station

I was coming home from a long day of work and travel. There are a few commuting options for the 30ish mile trek, which takes anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours, depending where in NY I’m heading from, the day of the week, and time of day. It was rush hour on a Wednesday and taking the PATH to Hoboken on to NJ Transit was the best route. I’ve always had an affinity for the Hoboken train station. It’s just over 100 years old and beautiful in the way I find half deteriorating/restored infrastructure to be. It’s vital and works, often more seamlessly then Penn Station in midtown NY. And being there just makes me happy. With some time to waste before my train left, I walked over to where the new(ish) light rail station sits at the far end of the station, just right of the NY Waterway terminal. I looked across the Hudson River toward the Manhattan skyline, listened to the ferries come in and depart, the planes flying in the crowded corridor above, and the trains idle in the station. Like every night, I joined the crowds heading home, glad I switched up my routine and took some time to enjoy it.
